The Chiefs doinked a game-winning field goal past the Chargers and everyone had the same reaction

The Kansas City Chiefs are 12-1. That includes a 9-0 record in one-score games.

Make that 10-0 now, because Kansas City clinched its ninth-straight AFC West title by fending off the Los Angeles Chargers in a 19-17 win on Sunday night. And like those other 10 close wins, it featured some late game magic.

That includes the kind you’d expect — Patrick Mahomes escaping pressure to extend a game-winning drive — and the kind that makes you believe the football gods are real and love western Missouri barbeque. They’ve fended off their division rivals with a blocked kick (the Denver Broncos), a botched snap (the Las Vegas Raiders) and, now, a doinked-in game-winning field goal.

It felt inevitable. And once that ball bounced through the uprights, analysts and fans took to Twitter to express their exhaustion with a Chiefs team that keeps winning but never makes it easy.
