Tommy Fury open to Jake Paul rematch, Paul claims Fury turned down $8M offer

Tommy Fury and Jake Paul are at it again.

It’s been nearly two years since Fury and Paul met in the boxing ring and the rivals are no closer to making amends. Fury defeated Paul via split decision in their February 2023 boxing match, and both men seemingly moved on from talks of a rematch with Fury later fighting KSI, and Paul competing several times since including his heavily hyped fight with Mike Tyson this past November.

However, Paul’s brother Logan Paul recently stoked the flames of the feud by claiming Fury has refused to fight Jake again. On Tuesday, Fury responded to the comments via his Instagram Stories.

“I just woke up and seen Logan Paul talk on his podcast yet again about how I don’t want to fight Jake and I’m running scared,” Fury said. “I’ve seen Jake tweeting the other day about how he offered my X, Y, and, Z on Netflix. ... I just wanted to come in here and say that no one’s running from that fight. I beat you once already, I handed you your first loss. The minute you stepped up and fought a real boxer, you lost, fair and square.

“I can give you a second loss, that’s not a problem, but let’s talk some serious numbers down the phone. If you want to get in touch, you know where I am, it’s as easy as that. I can come back after a year and beat the pair of you, so at the end of the day if you want to fight, let’s talk some serious numbers. You know where I am.”

It didn’t take long for Paul to issue his own response via social media, repeating a previous claim that his team had offered Fury $8 million for the rematch.

“What absolute muppet,” Paul wrote. “Buddy you just pulled out of a fight for the 3rd time. You have ZERO credibility. I offered you $8M dollars and you ran away from it. And now you got dumped by [Fury’s ex-fiancée Molly-Mae Hague], getting sued by DAZN and still can’t call a shot without your dad.

“GTFOH.”

The two continued to go back-and-forth on Twitter afterwards.

Fury was scheduled to fight one-time UFC title challenger Darren Till at a Jan. 18 Misfits Boxing event, but withdrew from the contest, citing concerns over Till saying that he might use MMA techniques in their match if it isn’t going his way.

“I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025,” Fury said in a statement. “For the one simple reason, Darren has stated over and over that he doesn’t want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is loosing (losing) the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics. I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and a new date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner.”

Paul is coming off of a widely lambasted decision win over the 58-year-old Tyson. Their bout drew a peak viewership of over 108 million, according to Netflix, who streamed the event live on Nov. 15.
