Cowboys Cold in Big 12 Opening Loss to Houston

Oklahoma State's men's basketball team went more than 12 and a half minutes without making a basket and shot just 26 percent from the field in a 60-to-47 loss to #14 Houston on Monday night in the Big 12 opener for both teams at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.

Houston closed the first half on a 17-to-1 run as the Cowboys went cold and led 28-18 at halftime.

The Cougars built the lead to 22 in the second half, handing the Cowboys their ninth straight loss in a conference opener.

J'wan Roberts led Houston with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while L.J. Cryer added 18 points with four three-pointers, and former Sooner Milos Uzan had 11 points.

OSU's three starting guards combined to go 0-for-15 from the field and scored just four points at the free throw line.

Brandon Newman led OSU with 12 points and Robert Jennings added 10 points.

OSU drops to 8-4 on the season.

The Cowboys next visit West Virginia for an 11:00 am tipoff on Saturday.
