Kyle Walker could link up with Cristiano Ronaldo as he is big transfer target for Saudi Arabia clubs

KYLE WALKER remains a big January transfer target for oil-rich clubs in Saudi Arabia.

The Manchester City skipper, 34, is having a tough season but has 18 months left on his Etihad contract.

Walker admitted he would “never say never” when a Middle East move was first on the horizon last year — despite knocking it back to chase more silverware under Pep Guardiola.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad are all believed to still be keen on talking to the England defender.

But a move away from City is more likely in the summer than during the January window as Guardiola’s squad is badly hit by injuries.

The reigning Prem champions returned to winning ways with a 2-0 triumph at Leicester last Sunday.

Goals by Savinho and Erling Haaland saw City grab a much-needed three points.

After the game, boss Guardiola admitted his “relief” at the result.

He said: “I think it is more relief than happiness, I think that’s the right word.

“As a performance it was not the best, I couldn’t expect it, really. Leicester were better in the last 10-15 minutes of the first half, in the last 15-20 of the second.

“The game was tight. We have to improve a lot. We will improve as the results improve, that’s for sure. The best of us will come back.

“Against Everton the performance was far better than today but today we won and that’s what we need to clean our minds and souls and see we can win games.

“I never thought it was difficult to win one single game but now we feel it. Maybe it’s good.

“That period helps to see what we have done, it made me reflect on how difficult it is to do what we have done.”
