Juventus transfer strategy: January loan for West Ham midfielder, Tonali in June
Sky Sport Italia confirms that West Ham midfielder Guido Rodriguez is a genuine Juventus target for January, but the Bianconeri’s priority for next season remains Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali.
Multiple sources claim that Juventus’ January priority is to sign a new central midfielder, especially a deep-lying playmaker, and both Gazzetta and Sky report that West Ham’s Guido Rodriguez is among the main targets for next month.
Juventus want Guido Rodriguez on loan in January
Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Bianconeri are considering a loan move for the 31-year-old midfielder because the Serie A giants “want to have the space and the budget to sign Tonali in June.”
Tonali has long been linked with a move to Juventus, but according to Di Marzio, the Italian midfielder won’t leave Newcastle during the winter transfer window.
Tonali is Juventus’ priority for 2026-27
According to the report, Juventus also want to sign a backup for Kenan Yildiz in January, and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Garcia is among the players on the Old Lady’s agenda.
It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid want to part ways with the 21-year-old and the formula they want to use.
It could be a loan deal with an option to buy or even a permanent transfer with a buy-back clause for the Merengues, the same method they used with Como for Nico Paz and Jacobo Ramon.
