Lazio close in on Taylor & Toth deals to replace exit-bound Guendouzi
Lazio are stepping up their midfield rebuild as Matteo Guendouzi moves closer to a January exit, with the club advancing talks on two separate fronts.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, via CalcioMercato, Lazio have intensified contacts with Ferencváros for highly rated midfielder Alex Tóth.
The Hungary international, born in 2005, has established himself at senior level after debuting at 17 and impressed in both domestic competition and European fixtures.
Ferencváros are demanding around €10m and are reluctant to sell, but Lazio are pushing to move ahead of competition from Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
Lazio close in on deal for Ajax’s Taylor
In parallel, Lazio are also working on a deal for Kenneth Taylor, viewed as a more immediate replacement for Guendouzi.
Reports indicate that the Roman side are closing in on a €15 million agreement for the Ajax man.
Talks are ongoing as the Biancocelesti look to secure a midfielder capable of fitting Maurizio Sarri’s system quickly.
With Guendouzi’s departure expected to generate around €30 million in funds, the Biancocelesti aim to finalise at least one midfield signing in the coming days, with Taylor considered a concrete and achievable option in January.
