UEFA probes Serbia FA over fans’ unruly behaviour

UEFA said Monday it had opened disciplinary proceedings against the Football Association of Serbia over alleged inappropriate behaviour by its fans after the country’s Euro 2024 match against England. Charges against the FSS include “throwing of objects” and “transmitting a provocative message unfit for a sports event”, the European football body said in a statement.

Oklahoma panel denies clemency for man convicted in 1984 killing of 7-year-old girl

Oklahoma's Pardon and Parole Board is denying clemency for a death row inmate convicted of raping and killing a 7-year-old girl in 1984. Monday's 5-0 decision paves the way for 66-year-old Richard Rojem to be executed by lethal injection on June 27. Rojem was convicted of kidnapping, raping and killing his former stepdaughter, Layla Cummings. The child's body was discovered in a field in rural Washita County near the town of Burns Flat. MANILA, Philippines–Boxers Carlo Paalam and Nesthy Petecio will carry the Philippine flag in the parade of nations at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Paalam and Petecio, who both secured silver medals in the previous Olympics in Tokyo, were designated flag-bearers by the Philippine Olympic Committee for the opening rites of the global
