Trump ally Steve Bannon has asked the Supreme Court to delay his prison sentence while he fights his convictions for defying a subpoena from the House committee that investigated the attack on U.S. Capitol. The request from Republican former President Donald Trump's longtime ally comes after a federal appeals court panel rejected his bid to avoid reporting to prison by July 1 to serve his four-month sentence. Rail service in the Northeast has been disrupted for a second day. Amtrak trains into and out of New York City are delayed or canceled. And service on the commuter line NJ Transit was suspended during the morning rush Friday before later resuming. Several Amtrak trains scheduled to run between New York City and upstate New York were canceled Friday. Trains from Pennsylvania to New York are terminating in Philadelphia. Prison, restitution ordered for ex-tribal leader convicted of defrauding Oglala Sioux Tribe

A federal judge on Thursday sentenced a former tribal leader in South Dakota to serve nearly two years in prison and pay about $82,000 in restitution after a jury convicted him in April of defrauding his tribe. Julian Bear Runner was convicted of six counts of wire fraud in addition to larceny and embezzlement charges.
