Eight crew members of Baltimore ship crash to return to India

After a three-month wait, eight crew members of the MV Daki Cargo ship involved in the Baltimore bridge crash are returning to India, while others remain for litigation. A judge allowed their departure despite city motions to keep them in the US. The ship is set to leave for Norfolk, Virginia, with four crew members staying on board. Investigations continue with no charges made yet.

Calcutta HC orders Bengal Govt to ensure safe return of displaced post-poll violence victims by Tuesday

The Calcutta High Court has directed the West Bengal government to ensure the safe return of displaced victims of alleged post-poll violence by Tuesday. A Division Bench, headed by Justice Harish Tandon, reviewed the situation and numerous petitions were submitted. The court ordered the displaced people to be sent back to their homes by next Tuesday and ordered increased police surveillance in affected areas to prevent recurrence of violence.
