The Bombay High Court directed the Maharashtra government to make the state advisory board for policies related to disabled persons functional within a month. The court criticized the government for needing directives to fulfill its statutory obligations under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. The board, non-functional since 2020, must be operational by mid-August.
The Supreme Court scheduled the hearing of NEET-UG 2024 related pleas for July 18, noting compliance by the Centre and NTA with the July 8 order, as some petitioners' lawyers await the filed affidavits. This comes amidst allegations of irregularities and malpractices in the May 5 exam. There have been petitions filed to seek reexamination. A bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud considers the matter.
