Wayanad District Collector Meghashree D R has used GPS coordinates from aerial drone pictures and cell phone data to identify search and rescue locations in landslides-hit areas. The worst-affected Mundakkai and Chooralmala hamlets have been turned into six zones, with 40 teams of rescue personnel, cadaver dogs, and heavy machinery deployed to search for survivors and unearth remains.
