Mississippi has only one Black justice serving on its highest court despite having the largest percentage of Black residents in the U.S. A federal judge began hearing arguments Monday in a lawsuit that seeks to compel Mississippi to redraw its three Supreme Court districts to increase the chances of Black candidates being elected. Panthers add a fourth quarterback on Monday

CHARLOTTE - The Panthers have added a quarterback to the roster, as they head into four straight days of practice ahead of the first pre-season game.

The team signed quarterback Jake Luton, who spent time with the Panthers in 2023. In a corresponding move, the club placed defensive end Kemoko Turay on reserve/injured.

Luton was first drafted by the Jaguars in the sixth round of the 2020

The club signed tight end Jesper Horstead on Monday. In a corresponding move, the team waived Tayvion Robinson.
