Pune reports eight new Zika virus cases, six of them pregnant women

Pune reported eight new Zika virus cases, totaling 81 in the district. Pune city reported 73, Rural Pune six, and Pimpri Chinchwad two cases each. Six of the patients were pregnant women with normal anomaly scans. In Rural Pune, a 31-year-old with travel history to Hyderabad tested positive, while in Pune city, a 36-year-old man was affected by the virus.

Higher Output Pushes Occidental Petroleum's Q2 Profit Above Expectations

Occidental Petroleum reported second-quarter profits of $1.03 per share for a total of $1 billion thanks to higher production. The result exceeded analyst expectations by 34%. The company reported oil and gas pretax profits of $1.6 billion for the second quarter of the year, up from $1.2 billion for the first quarter.
