A comparative study of thermal radiation model in Chinese solar greenhouse

by Wenhe Liu, Manhe Qu, Feng Zhang, Simin Cao, Zehui Li, Zhanyang Xu

The performance of three widely used thermal radiation models, the P-1 model, the surface-to-surface (S2S) model and the Discrete-Ordinates (DO) model, were evaluated for simulation temperature in Chinses solar greenhouse. The thermal radiation models were evaluated by comparing the numerical results with experimental data at representative points in the CSG. For indoor rear wall, the indoor soil and indoor air, the models... Читать дальше...

Accumulation of production capital and income growth of Chinese farmers in the post-poverty alleviation era: A study based on a two-way fixed effects model with CFPS data

by Zhao Liu

Agricultural mechanization is a crucial indicator of modernization in agriculture. It improves productivity and underpins the evolution of a modern state. This study scrutinizes the enduring effects of government subsidies on farm machinery acquisition, income growth, and capital accumulation in rural households. It is based on policies about targeted poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. Research findings indicate that government subsidies have significantly increased the per capita net income of rural households. Читать дальше...

Multi-gas pollutant detection based on sparrow search algorithm optimized ALSTM-FCN

by Xueying Kou, Xingchi Luo, Wei Chu, Yong Zhang, Yunqing Liu

It is critical to identify and detect hazardous, flammable, explosive, and poisonous gases in the realms of industrial production and medical diagnostics. To detect and categorize a range of common hazardous gasses, we propose an attention-based Long Short term memory Full Convolutional network (ALSTM-FCN) in this paper. We adjust the network parameters of ALSTM-FCN using the Sparrow search algorithm (SSA) based on this, by comparison... Читать дальше...

Evaluating disparity of subjective cognitive decline between male veterans and non-veterans in the United States using propensity score matching estimation: A behavioral risk factor surveillance system survey cross-sectional study

by Chinenye Ifebirinachi, Man Sik Park, Seong-Tae Kim

Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) is one of the most important early onset symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease. Previous studies consistently reported that SCD is associated with quality of life, socio-economic factors, and related health comorbidities. However, the impact of veteran status on SCD has been little investigated. This study conducted a cross-sectional study to address disproportionate effects in subjective cognitive decline... An empirical study on the evaluation and influencing factors of digital competence of Chinese teachers for TVET

by Yu Xin, Yuanbin Tang, Xiangwei Mou

The digital competence of TVET (technical and vocational education and training) teacher is the key to the digital development of TVET. Improving the digital competence of TVET teachers is of great significance to accelerate the digital transformation process of TVET. However, there are still few researches on digital competence of TVET. The aim of this study is to describe the self-cognition of digital competence of Chinese teachers for TVET. For this purpose... The impact of digital transformation of commercial banks on household income: Evidence from China

by Yuran Chen, Ruoxuan Huang, Yuying Zhang, Qinghong Shuai

Scholars have focused on the digital transformation of commercial banks, yet there remains a lack of systematic and integrative research at the micro-level of household finance. This article uses data from the China Household Finance Survey (CHFS) and the Digital Transformation Index of Chinese Commercial Banks from Peking University. It employs empirical methods such as mechanism analysis and heterogeneity analysis to explore the... Читать дальше...

Research inefficiencies in external validation studies of the Framingham Wilson coronary heart disease risk rule: A systematic review

by Jong-Wook Ban, Lucy Abel, Richard Stevens, Rafael Perera

Background

External validation studies create evidence about a clinical prediction rule’s (CPR’s) generalizability by evaluating and updating the CPR in populations different from those used in the derivation, and also by contributing to estimating its overall performance when meta-analysed in a systematic review. While most cardiovascular CPRs do not have any external validation, some CPRs have been externally validated repeatedly. Читать дальше...

Lessons for future pandemics: Temporal evolution and rural-urban variations in the impacts of the COVID-19 on opioid use treatment

by Zhongyang He, Jonathan M. Heess, Travis Young, Zhen Lei

The COVID-19 pandemic introduced imminent and lasting impacts on the opioid crisis in the U.S., including a significant increase in opioid overdose and deaths and in use of telehealth in treatment. What lessons can we learn from the treatment transition during the pandemic that could help tackle the opioid crisis when future pandemics strike? In this paper, we conducted a phone survey with opioid treatment facilities in Pennsylvania... Читать дальше...

Noise leads to the perceived increase in evolutionary rates over short time scales

by Brian C. O’Meara, Jeremy M. Beaulieu

Across a variety of biological datasets, from genomes to conservation to the fossil record, evolutionary rates appear to increase toward the present or over short time scales. This has long been seen as an indication of processes operating differently at different time scales, even potentially as an indicator of a need for new theory connecting macroevolution and microevolution. Here we introduce a set of models that assess the relationship between... Читать дальше...
