Japan’s parliament has formally elected Shigeru Ishiba, head of the governing Liberal Democratic Party, as the country’s new prime minister. Ishiba was chosen as the party’s leader on Friday to replace Fumio Kishida, who then stepped down earlier Tuesday to pave the way. Ishiba will announce his new Cabinet later on Tuesday. Suspected attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels have targeted at least one ship in the Red Sea. The incidents Tuesday likely marks their first assault on commercial shipping in weeks as the Israel-Hamas war threatens to become a regional conflict. SpiceJet, IndiGo shares rally up to 6% after ATF price cut
