Pakistani police say gunmen have opened fire on vehicles carrying Shiite Muslims in the country's restive northwest, killing at least 38 people and wounding 20 others. Thursday's attack happened in Kurram, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province where clashes between majority Sunni Muslims and minority Shiites have killed dozens in recent months.
