Human rights violations escalate in Iran: 133 executions in one month

A human rights organization, in a detailed report, highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran's practice of issuing and carrying out death sentences. The report revealed that during the month of Aban (October 23–November 21), at least 133 executions took place, including one public execution. Additionally, 24 new death sentences were issued, and seven previously issued sentences were reaffirmed by the courts during that period.  See the full story here.

With Kentucky ahead, competition for Texas Longhorns has been fierce in practice

The results don't suggest that Kentucky has an elite defense, they are 1-6 in Southeastern Conference play at 4-6 overall, but they had the injury bug hit them. Now, some of the main contributors will be available including outside linebacker JJ Weaver and 345-pound defensive tackle Deone Walker. Defensive back Maxwell Hairston returned to the field in last week's 48-7 win over Murray State, and while he's listed as out on the initial SEC injury report, defensive back DJ Waller Jr. could also be available.

The EU Artificial Intelligence Act, scheduled to take effect on August 2, 2026, will require startups to allocate significant resources to comply with its requirements, especially for ‘high-risk’ AI applications. A recent survey by Atomico, an early-stage venture capital firm that has backed companies like Stripe, Klarna, and Skype, revealed that a sixth of the value created by European startups is lost due to US relocation and this migration contributes to a loss of talent, knowledge, capital, and economic output within Europe.
