In 2002, my mom and stepfather (Jim) were living in a Council house. Under the Right to Buy, we (3 of 4 sisters plus a cousin) paid for the house purchase and a solicitor put in place a Certificate of Trust in our names but, naturally, the house was still in mom & Jim’s names.

Jim died in 2002, didn’t leave a will, was not in touch with his sons etc so his estate went to mom. But none of us thought to have his name removed from the joint tenancy ????‍♀️
