Hindu organisation takes out protest march to Bangladesh Deputy High Commission

Hindu activists in Kolkata rallied to the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission, protesting the persecution of Hindus and the arrest of spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das. Police intervened, preventing the marchers from reaching the High Commission. Over 200 attacks against Hindus have been reported in Bangladesh since August 5th.

INDIA bloc to hold protests in Delhi over Manipur situation: Congress leader

At least 13 dead after landslides bury 40 homes in villages in eastern Uganda

At least 13 people have died in eastern Uganda after landslides buried 40 homes in six villages. The Uganda Red Cross Society said Thursday that 13 bodies have been recovered and the rescue effort is continuing. Local media reports said that authorities expect the death toll could rise to 30. The landslides happened after heavy rains in the mountainous district of Bulambuli. The prime minister’s office issued a disaster alert on Wednesday stating that heavy rains across the country had cut off major roads.
