Macron begins state visit to Saudi Arabia as conflict roils the Mideast

French President Emmanuel Macron began a three-day state visit to Saudi Arabia Monday aimed at boosting diplomatic and economic ties. The first state visit by a French president since 2006 comes as a fragile ceasefire holds between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon and a fresh outbreak of fighting between government and rebel forces in Syria.
