Palestinian Authority halts Al Jazeera broadcasts in West Bank

The Palestinian Authority on Thursday ordered the suspension of broadcasts by Al Jazeera in a move the Qatar-based television network condemned as reminiscent of Israeli practices. “It is ironic that both the extremist right-wing Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority have taken a vengeance out against Al Jazeera,” said FRANCE 24’s Jerusalem correspondent Noga Tarnopolsky. “[But] the Palestinian Authority is making many public diplomatic efforts to put itself on the right side of the incoming Trump administration,” she added.
