Museum staff are overwhelmingly in favor of behind-the-scenes tours

If natural history museums can be said to have a problem, it's that they have too many specimens for any one person to see and not nearly enough exhibit space to show them off. The Florida Museum of Natural History, for example, is home to more than 40 million specimens and objects. According to Julie Waters, manager of exhibit planning and development at the Florida Museum, only about 1,500 specimens are on display at any given time, which is 0.0038% of the total collection.

Brazil approves law strengthening protective measures for female victims of gender-based violence

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has signed into effect a law to strengthen protective measures for women facing gender-based violence. Feminist activists welcome the move but demand more funds for prevention. The law, published Monday, allows judges to suspend gun ownership, remove abusers from homes, and enforce no-contact orders. UK sanctions Russian and Chinese firms suspected of being 'malign actors' in information warfare

Britain has announced sanctions against several Russian media and ideas organizations. Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said the measures will target the Telegram channel Rybar and the Center for Geopolitical Expertise. Two China-based firms are also sanctioned for cyber activities. Cooper warned that Western nations must improve their information warfare strategies, adding the threat includes disinformation campaigns using AI and manipulated videos.
