Queen Latifah Brought a Very Special, Rarely-Seen Guest to Her First Ever Met Gala

The 2024 Met Gala had a little bit of everything; it had looks that pushed boundaries like Tyla’s sculptural sand gown, and looks that seriously split the internet (yes, we’re talking about Kim Kardashian’s odd sweater addition to her silver look). While this Met Gala was rather controversial considering the apparel that was worn, many did love one thing about this year’s Met Gala: the fact that so many of our favorite celebrity couples walked the red carpet together, including Queen Latifah and her longtime partner Eboni Nichols.

In case you missed it, Latifah made her Met Gala debut last night at the Met Gala themed “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” alongside Nichols. Not only was this their debut at the Met Gala, but it was a super-rare outing for the private couple.

In the photos, we see the two dressed for the dress code “The Garden of Time,” with both in Thom Browne looks. Latifah donned a sparkling black gown with what we believe to be birds of paradise plants designed into it, along with a feathered black coat. Nichols matched Latifah’s coat by rocking an elaborate, monochromatic ensemble.

We truly loved seeing them together, and we love that they got to experience this event together for the first time!

For those who don’t know, the two met on the set of Dancing with the Stars back in 2009. While they made their relationship official in 2013, Latifah didn’t talk about her relationship publicly until 2021 during her speech for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards 2021, per HollywoodLife.

They share one son named Rebel, who was born in either 2018 or 2019.
