PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Milwaukie man was arrested on May 6 for the murder of Nathan Dean Anderson, a 25-year-old man from Oregon City, the Clackamas Sheriff's Office said.

Cody James Denewith, 26, is suspected of shooting Anderson to death on April 29 near the intersection of 90th Avenue and St. Helens Street in Clackamas County.

“At around 5:30 p.m., Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to reports of a shooting,” the CCSO stated in a press release. “... Deputies arrived and located a man later identified as Nathan Dean Anderson with an apparent gunshot wound,” Mr. Anderson was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died.”

Denewith was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and the unlawful use of a weapon. Denewith is being held without bail.

“Detectives were able to determine that Mr. Anderson and the suspect knew each other, leading to the identification of Denewith as a suspect,” the CCSO said.
