Brandon Marsh keeled over with laughter and started dancing along in between sets in the cage as the Phillies’ DJ blasted one of his favorite rap songs — BossMan DLow’s “Get In With Me” — during batting practice.
The Florida rapper’s hit 2024 single was as TikTok sensation, and Marsh only gave it another viral moment when he sang a line from the song in an on-field interview this past weekend on ESPN‘s Sunday Night Baseball. “Bae, these Off-White, these ain’t no Huaraches,” Marsh hilariously rapped on the telecast.
So, the Phillies had fun with it, blaring the song when the outfielder stepped into the batter’s box for batting practice on Tuesday.
“It’s been quite the 48 hours,” Marsh said of the reaction to his interview in a conversation with Phillies Nation on the field at Citizens Bank Park. “But it’s what it’s all about, just the fun side of the game that we brought out during that little micro-clip. Gave someone a little insider info on what goes on in the outfield out there.”

Even before the interview, it was hardly a secret what goes on in that Philadelphia outfield when Marsh is out there. The 26-year-old keeps his beard long, his hair wet and he has fun. And his favorite way to channel that fun-loving energy is through music.
“Man, just a lot of music, a lot of dancing,” he said. “Cutting it up when I have the time to cut up, and when it’s time to lock in, locking in and being professional. But, really, I think music and just letting the body flow, man, is how I stay loose.”
Marsh is a modern hip-hop fan, preferring the melodic sound of a lot of newer rap. “Get In With Me” is a favorite of Marsh and teammate/roommate Alec Bohm, playing it “every day, every night, at least once” at home. He likes Eminem, Kid Cudi and Young Dolph and loves Philadephia native Lil Uzi Vert.
“I’m definitely more of like the modern rap,” Marsh said. “I still go back and visit the ‘90s, 2000s stuff, but I like to say I’m caught up to the new-age rap.”
Lil Uzi’s voice has serenaded Marsh’s trips to the plate since he was a teenager at Buford High School in Georgia, with Marsh currently using the tracks “444+222” and “Pluto to Mars” as walk-up songs in the big leagues. Despite being in Philly since 2022, Marsh and Uzi have never met — although Marsh did spot the rapper in the stadium suites at Game 5 of the World Series in his first season. “That was good enough for me,” he laughed.
Marsh’s love for music is something he shares with others on the roster. Of course, catcher Garrett Stubbs’ post-win playlists became a hit for Phillies fans during the 2022 postseason, and Nick Castellanos and Taijuan Walker love to play their favorite songs for the team as well.
“It’s a big music clubhouse,” Marsh said, “so the music’s always bumping.”
Laid back with the speakers on full volume, the Phillies are winning games and having fun doing it. The team won its seventh straight on Tuesday night with a 10-1 rout of the Blue Jays in the first of a two-game set. Philadelphia is 26-11, good for the best record in Major League Baseball.
Marsh has been a key part of that early success, posting a .754 OPS with six home runs in 34 games while playing plus defense in left field and playing a solid center field when needed. And he gives credit for that performance to not taking himself too seriously, rapping along to a favorite tune and letting those Off-White shoes move.
“It takes a lot of pressure off of our shoulders,” Marsh said. “It’s a hard, hard game, even for the best players to ever do it. It’s a super tough game and a humbling game, so if you can cut up and have a couple of laughs here and there in a nine inning game, it’ll save you a couple of hard times.”
