Apple CEO Tim Cook Wears First Pair of Custom Nike Shoes Designed on an iPad

The one-of-a-kind sneakers were designed for the first time using the brand's iPad pencil.

Apple is leading the way in technology and yet again, they’re doing it by teaming up with one of the biggest names in the sneaker industry to do it.

On May 7, the brand’s CEO, Tim Cook, announced on X the latest iPad lineup in a custom pair of Air Max 1 ’86 designed for the first time ever on an iPad Pro’s latest gadget, an Apple Pencil Pro. The unique, white sneakers have a variety of neon colors splashed along Nike’s signature swoosh and the colors are speckled on throughout the exterior. The shoe dons a “Made on iPad” tag on the tongue underneath Nike’s name and a red swoosh with a gum sole.

Though this isn’t the first time the two power brands have collaborated, this is the first time they have released a shoe together. In 2006, they created performance chips to help track athlete’s performances by using a device placed in the sole of certain sneakers. And today, they also have a wide variety of Nike branded Apple watches on sale to help athletes achieve their goals.

Apple has dabbled in the shoe business before, too. In the mid-90s, it released a highly in demand, the Omega Sports Apple Computer sneaker. The shoe is a simple white sneaker that is so rare, it retails for $50,000 and up if you can even get your hands on a pair. The leather shoe has a rainbow colored Apple along the side and tongue with the company’s name in black with classic white shoe laces. The sneaker was never sold in stores and was a one-time giveaway at a National Sales Conference.
