Topeka flower shop gets ready for Mother's Day rush
TOPEKA (KSNT) - With Mother's Day quickly approaching, you may be struggling to find a gift. Don't worry, a local shop will help you find the perfect gift.
Mother's Day is the second busiest holiday for most flower shops. Florists receive many orders and scramble to complete them in time. One local florist said ordering earlier is better! You have to give the florist time to make the beautiful bouquet.
KSNT 27 News spoke with the owner of Heaven Scent Flowers & Tuxedos, who has some advice for buyers.
"Bear in mind, when you're ordering flowers, whether it's online or you're calling a shop, just realize that they don't always have everything on hand," local florist Brenda Wenrich said. "And we substitute you with equal and or higher value flowers or the same color if we can. So just, you know, be patient with the florists and know that we're doing everything we can to make your mom happy. "
Also, be aware that some flowers may be harmful to pets when ordering!
According to the Animal Emergency Service, here are some of the flowers and plants that are most toxic to pets.

- Ferns
- Hyacinths
- Hydrangeas
