ACSO: Westerlo man threatened to shoot victim in front of child
A Westerlo man was arrested and is accused of threatening to shoot a victim in the presence of an 18-month-old child. Dylan Lafave, 30, faces multiple charges.
WESTERLO, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Westerlo man was arrested and is accused of threatening to shoot a victim in the presence of an 18-month-old child. Dylan Lafave, 30, faces multiple charges.
On Thursday, around 9:13 p.m., Albany County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to 310 County Route 403 in Westerlo for an active domestic incident involving a firearm. Deputies say the caller stated she was involved in a physical domestic incident.
Deputies say the caller stated Lafave had a handgun and pistol-whipped her in the head, threatening to shoot her in front of her 18-month-old child. Lafave allegedly also said he would shoot the deputies upon their arrival.
The sheriff's office emergency response team responded and took Lafave into custody without incident. A search warrant was executed and a loaded 9mm privately manufactured gun (ghost gun) was found. Deputies say Lafave used it during the incident.

- Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Second-degree assault
- First-degree reckless endangerment
- First-degree menacing
- Endangering the welfare of a child
Lafave will be arraigned in Westerlo Town Court on Friday.
