It sees pairs of everyday people head out on an epic adventure through a series of James Bond-inspired challenges and find questions hidden all around the world.

They took on the challenges in a bid to win a life-changing £1 million prize.

Brian, 77, acts as The Controller and dictates where the pairs go, what they must do and sets their 10 questions.

The news of the show’s return next year was confirmed by Broadcast, however Brian’s involvement in a second series is yet to be confirmed.

It’s recommission might come as a surprise to some viewers who had watched the first series, as many were left underwhelmed by it.

On Rotten Tomatoes, it has achieved a 43 per cent score on the Tomatometer and a 70 per cent average audience score.

One viewer wrote on the site: “The locations and score from the Bond movies, with no context or tie-in to help us appreciate it. Horrendous format.

“It’s a competition show but contestants aren’t fighting head to head. Challenges have nothing to do with the IP. Rounds end with completely irrelevant trivia.

“I will watch absolutely anything – this was too boring for me to even have on in the background while washing up.”

Another added: “This might have been fun to watch but it lacked believability. It was programmed ahead of time to seem spontaneous but give me a break!

“Ordinary people cannot scale perpendicular cliffs for example. I didn’t like it.”

A third moaned: “Embarrassing. After years and years of reality tv travel gameshows, over 700-800 episodes of various Amazing Races I’ve seen how the pros do it and this show is a joke by comparison.

“Just misguided throughout and so boring they fast forwarded whole chunks of their own show in the final edit.”

Others weren’t so harsh though, with one writing: “Love this. The great Brian Cox is perfect host as a slightly kinder Logan Roy.

“Every day people chosen as contestants are endearing as you get up know them. Questions are difficult as are some tasks. Learning and being entertained at the same time.”

Another added: “I’m not sure why but I’m liking this. I love the scenery for one thing.

“The Bone brother are hilarious and the challenges are interesting. Not sure why they needed to involve “007” in the title, but I just disregarded that. Brian Cox is so droll, he’s great.”

Meanwhile a third commented: “Great fun. Brian is wonderful as always. Visually stunning.”
