The Nation's Weather for Monday, May 13, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms will once again have the potential to become
severe in parts of the South today, with storms capable of
producing hail, localized damaging wind gusts, flooding
downpours and even some tornadoes from southeastern Texas
northward across Arkansas and toward far western Florida
through the evening. An area of more general thunderstorm
activity is expected to extend from the central Plains
northeastward across southern Iowa and Lower Michigan and to
the Pennsylvania-New York border zone. Otherwise, much of
New England and the mid-Atlantic should be dry. In the West,
interior sections will be in line for some spotty afternoon
thundershowers from Montana to northern Colorado. Other than
a few showers dotting western Washington, much of the rest
of West should be dry.
