In response to rumours that he would take Erik ten Hag’s job as Manchester United manager, Brentford manager Thomas Frank has responded.

Though he has stated he is content at Brentford, Frank has acknowledged he feels flattered to be linked with Man United.

The Telegraph reported that the Premier League manager is a strong contender to replace Ten Hag at the end of the season, with the Red Devils looking at potential candidates.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Sir Dave Brailsford, and their INEOS team seeking to make significant changes in an attempt to turn around the faltering club, Ten Hag is anticipated to be dismissed as Man United’s manager this summer.

The Red Devils have suffered in the Premier League and the Champions League this season.

They are currently eighth in the league after 14 defeats this season. While in the Champions League, they crashed out of the group stage.

In conversation with Bold, the 50-year-old manager said:

“I am really happy where I am. It is close to being the perfect club to be at. I can see myself being here for many more years. I am close to the owner, to the sports director, everyone around the club. Brentford is a club where I really feel at home.”

Thomas Frank to Man United?

When asked about his feelings after being linked with the Man United job, he replied:

“First of all I think it is flattering and a recognition of the work I’ve done. And I’m glad that others are noticing the work we are doing at Brentford. But, having said that, what goes on at Brentford is not a one-man show.”

Since joining Brentford in 2018, Frank has developed a close relationship with the west London team.

Man United target has enjoyed success with Brentford

He guided the team to Premier League promotion in 2021 after winning the Championship play-off final.

Before their season finale against Newcastle on Sunday, Brentford are in 16th place, 13 points above the drop, thanks to the 50-year-old’s impressive leadership of the Bees.

Along with Frank, Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate have also been linked with the Man United job.
