Gansevoort man accused of grand larceny, embezzling

State Police arrested a Gansevoort man after he was allegedly embezzling money from his employer.

MAYFIELD, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State Police arrested a Gansevoort man after he was allegedly embezzling money from his employer. Seth Berger, 53, has been charged with third-degree grand larceny.

Berger is accused of accepting cash payments from customers on behalf of a business in Northville that he reportedly worked at from 2021 until August 2022 and embezzling those payments. Police investigated the reports of missing funds from the business and said Berger allegedly stole more than $3,000.

The suspect turned himself in to the police where he was arrested. He was issued an appearance ticket to return to Northampton Town Court on June 11 and released.
