Easy Tiger announces new CEO

Austin bakery and restaurant Easy Tiger has brought in a new CEO to lead the business, according to a press release.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin bakery and restaurant Easy Tiger has brought in a new CEO to lead the business, according to a press release.

The new CEO will be Todd Coerver, who previously worked as the CEO of P. Terry’s Burger Stand from 2019 to 2023.

“We're excited to welcome Todd on board; his proven success in shaping top-notch organizations and brands aligns with our vision for Easy Tiger,” said Easy Tiger founder David Norman, in the press release. “We are eager to benefit from his extensive restaurant and food industry experience.”

"There's nothing like Easy Tiger out there," said Coerver in an interview with KXAN. "It's a very dynamic and unique brand, I can't think of anything like it out there."

The announcement comes after a few turbulent months for the business. In January, Easy Tiger closed its east Austin location. Another blow came in March when the U.S. Department of Labor investigated the business' South Lamar location over reports of tip theft.

But for Coerver, those setbacks are already in the business' past.

"A big reason I've joined the company is to help ensure we don't encounter some of those challenges in the future," he said. "I have a pretty long track record of not only building businesses but building cultures that care for the employees and give the employees a place they can professionally call home."

For the future of Easy Tiger, Coerver said he hopes to grow what he sees as Austin's love for the business. In particular, he plans to expand Easy Tiger's bakery distribution to other city businesses.
