Klopp, 56, is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season and will be replaced by Arne Slot.

In his first Instagram post, he addresses Liverpool fans with an emotional video.

The video starts with Klopp saying: “Dear Liverpudlians”.

It is then followed by a selection of clips from his time managing the Reds.

This includes images of the crowd at Anfield and Klopp pumping his fist towards them.

He continues: “We are getting closer to the end.”

The video then shows a clip of Klopp during his first press conference after joining the club in 2015.

It is when he said: “It is not so important what people think when you come in, it is much more important what people think when you leave.”

Filming himself, Klopp insisted his time at the club has been a “love affair from the first day”.

He adds: “It has been an absolutely incredible time.

“I enjoyed it so much. I want to thank you so much for all the support you gave us over the years.

“For all the power you gave us. I’ve wondered always that it feels like we write a story together and that is how I feel today.

“It is a good book.

“And if we read it in the future, we will have a smile on our face.

“Leaving this incredible place is hard, but I want to stay in contact with you.

“And even though I am not a social media guy, people told me social media helps with that. So, here we go, see you.”

Klopp’s final game in charge of Liverpool will be against Wolves on the last day of the season tomorrow.
