Pochettino happy to invite Chelsea owner Todd Boehly on Argentina rafting trip despite awkward Daniel Levy incident

MAURICIO POCHETTINO will happily take his Chelsea bosses white-water rafting — if they keep him on board at Stamford Bridge.

Poch famously organised a staff trip to his native Argentina while at Spurs — and chairman Daniel Levy fell out on a rafting excursion.

Now after starting to swim in a season where it looked like he might sink, he says he would be willing to take Blues’ owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali on a similar trip.

Pochettino said: “They’re welcome if they want to, no problem.

“It was one of the best places and an amazing week I spent with people together.”

But his intended guests should be wary of accepting an invitation after what happened when Levy and Co braved the Manso River.

The boat flipped and several people were flung out.

The Blues boss, 52, added: “The boat flipped and several people were flung out.

“I’d promised the chairman I’d fish him out if he fell in and I saw Daniel looking at me, a picture of seriousness.

“I grabbed his hands and heaved him in then we joked about how I should have demanded a new contract!”

Chelsea will pip Spurs for fifth if they beat Bournemouth on Sunday and Poch’s old side lose at Sheffield United.

The Blues need only a point to be sure of a top-six finish and European football next season and Pochettino is looking forward to a summer break.

He said: “The plan is to go to Argentina to see my parents after five years and see my son in Barcelona.

“But no real holidays as there are too many things I need to deal with.”

Chelsea have enjoyed a late season charge that has seen them climb into the top six.

The Blues have won their last four games, and have lost just one of their last 14 in the Premier League.
