‘What a legend’: Conor McGregor, Jon Jones, other pros react to Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury
Oleksandr Usyk is the undisputed heavyweight champion after defeating Tyson Fury in a fight for the ages, and the combat sports community watched with awe.
After things were razor close for the first three rounds, Fury started to take over from the fourth through the sixth rounds as he used his massive reach, size, and weight advantage beautifully. Usyk began to steal some momentum, then things really heated up with a huge eighth stanza.
But it was Usyk who nearly ended things in the ninth with a brutal barrage that had Fury on skates, wobbling into the ropes, and led to an official knockdown. From there, the fight continued to deliver an all-time classic, but in the end, Usyk came away with the split decision win to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
