Melissa Joan Hart Reveals Something She Feels 'Really Guilty' About Doing With Britney Spears

Melissa Joan Hart opened up about her relationship with Britney Spears.

The 48-year-old Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress met the 42-year-old “Toxic” Princess of Pop in the ’90s when they shared the screen in Britney‘s “(You Drive Me) Crazy” music video.

During a new interview, Melissa spilled on their relationship at the time and where they stand now. In the process, she revealed something that she felt very guilty for doing with the pop star.

“Britney and I got to do a lot of press together. And we had a lot of fun together during this time,” Melissa told ET.

She added that Britney was “never able to break free” from the people around her. To help give her a break, she’d invite the then-17-year-old pop star to join her at nightclubs.

“I would go to a club every night — I love dancing and I loved going out, but I also knew to be responsible and, like, when to stop,” she said. “She was underage and young and — but I [was] just like, ‘Let’s go out. We’re just gonna go out and have some fun.’ And yeah — and I feel really guilty about that still to this day because I should have known better, being a big sister.”

Melissa and Britney have not maintained contact in recent years. However, they did briefly reunite in Las Vegas when the actress attended one of Britney‘s residency shows. They had time for “a quick hello backstage.”

A few months ago, Melissa recalled spending what was then the “worst day of my life” taking photos with Britney.
