BGT viewers in uproar as they discover K-pop band has already had international success
BRITAIN’S Got Talent viewers were left in uproar after they discovered K-pop boy band Blitzers were no strangers to fame.
The South Korean group auditioned in front of the judges in Saturday night’s episode.
Aged between 19 to 22, the dancers revealed they are the first ever K-pop group to appear on the ITV talent show.
They blew the judges away with their own version of Shawn Mendes’s There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.
After getting a standing ovation from the audience as well as Simon, Alesha, Amanda and Bruno, the group were given four yeses.
However, many viewers took to social media to complain about what they had just seen.
One said: “They’re already famous and should stay off the show.”
A second fumed: “I can only assume the K-Pop band Blitzers are famous outside the UK and were invited by BGT producers.
A third tweeted: “#BGT big in Korea and want to bring it to the UK….mmmmm…..Stinks of Simon bringing them over as his Kpop One Direction.”
A fourth added: “Someone help me understand…why are there so many acts from other countries on Britain’s Got Talent?!? I don’t get it! Surely the point of #BGT is for Britain to showcase its talent?!?!? Am I missing something?”
A Britain’s Got Talent spokesperson has explained the inclusion of international acts in a statement to the Mail Online.
It reads: “Britain’s got talent features a range of home-grown talent, alongside some overseas acts.
“It’s a testament to the international success of past acts such as Susan Boyle and Paul Potts that overseas acts want to audition for the UK show.”
Meanwhile, The Sun recently revealed how Denise and Stefan are favourite to win the show, according to the latest odds from bookies Ladbrokes.
The opera duo, who are both blind, were the standout performers on the hit ITV show last weekend.

Viewers felt Jonathan – who almost suffocated while being buried alive in a gravel pit – should have won.
Axel Blake – 2022: Comedian Axel Blake was given a Golden Buzzer in 2022 after making the judges laugh. But fans were fuming when they discovered Axel already had a show on worldwide streaming platform Amazon Prime. Despite this, Axel still went on to win the series.
Loren Allred – 2022: The 2022 series of BGT was hit with another controversy when singer Loren Allred also received a Golden Buzzer. She performed Never Enough from the smash hit musical movie The Greatest Showman and got a standing ovation. It later transpired Loren was actually the original voice behind the track.
Taryn Charles – 2024: Singer Taryn Charles is one of this year’s hopefuls lucky enough to receive the Golden Buzzer. Bruno Tonilio put her straight through to the semi-finals following her performance of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin, but it has now come to light that she is no stranger to TV. Viewers recognised Taryn from an episode of ITV1’s Starstruck, where she impersonated Whitney Houston for judges Olly Murs, Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight.
