Yet the Dutchman incredibly claimed they are in a BETTER position than last year ahead of the clash with Brighton.

Asked if his team had improved, he said: “When you look at the results, you would say no.

“But we know the reasons behind that. I would say yes.

“We have more high quality players in the squad so from that perspective, we are in a better position.”

Fans were fuming, with one saying: “sack this man.”
