Throughout the competition, Jack belted out songs like “I Was Wrong” (Auditions round), “You Should’ve Seen the Other Guy” (Showstopper round), “Rainbow” (Top 24 round), “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim” & “Feeling Whitney” (Top 20 round), “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” (Top 14 round), “Blinding Lights” (Top 12 round), “Believe” (Top 10 round), “Always on My Mind” (Top 8 round), “Long Tall Sally (The Thing)” & “One and Only” (Top 7 round), “Nobody’s Fool” & “Space Oddity” (Top 5 round), and “I’ll Be There for You” & “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” (Top 3 round).

The 25-year-old graphic designer from Dallas, TX had a rough start on the reality TV show, earning only one “yes” vote (from Luke Bryan) and two “no” votes (Katy Perry and Lionel Richie) during his audition. But the crew members were so passionate about Jack’s potential, they convinced the judges to re-vote, and the rest is history.

The highly anticipated Season 22 finale featured celebrity performances and appearances from A-listers like Jon Bon Jovi, Fantasia Barrino, Jason Mraz, Seal, James Bay, Cody Johnson, Wynnona Judd, New Kids on the Block and CeCe Winans, plus the three “Idol” judges. The evening also served as Katy Perry’s final night as a judge after seven seasons.

Since ABC earned the rights to air “American Idol” in 2018, the winners have consisted of Maddie Poppe (Season 16), Laine Hardy (Season 17), Just Sam (Season 18), Chayce Beckham (Season 19), Noah Thompson (Season 20) and Iam Tongi (Season 21).
