‘This is horrible’ people say as woman gets blue artificial turf in her garden that looks like ‘a swimming pool’

A WOMAN has left people horrified after proudly showing off the bright blue artificial turf she’s fixed in her garden.

With summer right around the corner and the weather warming up, many green-fingered people have been transforming their outdoor space – and TikTok user only known as Ali is no exception.

But although many typically opt for gorgeous blooms and green grass, Ali, from Falkirk, Scotland, has chosen a rather bold colour scheme – a vibrant blue artificial turf in her garden.

The Scottish lass explained that she wanted to go for something ”different”, as she’s never been the one to follow all the trends everybody else does.

All chuffed with the garden glow-up, the young woman took to TikTok to show off the makeover – however, the reaction was brutal.

In the video, which has since been viewed close to a staggering 900k times in a few days, Ali added that the clip didn’t even do ”the colour justice”.

Walking around the brand new outdoor space, Ali was praising the ”amazing” quality of the material and was pleased with how the colour was complimenting the rest of the property.

”I love it against the grey – just bounces off so well,” she reckoned.

”Never really been one to be the same as everybody else, so hence why we went a wee bit different,” the woman said, adding that they were yet to finish the glow-up with accessories and other items.

But whilst Ali may enjoy her vibrant blue garden, the colour choice has not been everyone’s cup of tea, as over 2,000 people flocked to criticise the young woman.

”This is horrible. Is it real?” one couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed on the platform.

Another chuckled: ”I genuinely thought it was a swimming pool you just hadn’t filled up yet.”

”The quality is amazing? It looks like a Brillo pad,” a cleaning fan pointed out.

”Safe from the lasers in the sky,” a fourth was in hysterics.

Luckily for Ali, it wasn’t all negative, as some fans of the makeover raced to praise the choice, as well as hit back at the haters.

”Don’t listen to the haters hun. I got the same reaction when I wallpapered the drive,” a fellow gardening enthusiast said.

How can I transform my garden on a budget?

There are some key elements which you need for a stunning garden glow-up on a tight budget.

  1. Lawn: Transforming your lawn can be cheaper if you decide to lay the turf yourself – prices in B&Q, for instance, are about £5 per square meter.
  2. Blooms: There are hundreds of types gardening fans could go for, – however, perennials like geraniums, lily-of-the-valley, siberian iris and daffodils will provide a great display for a small price. For a medium-sized garden, the cost of flowers shouldn’t go over more than £100.
  3. Small ornamental trees: Cherry blossom trees, Japanese Maple trees and Crabapple trees are all under £50 and make for a great carnival of colours.
  4. Gravel: Using gravel to form a path or patio area can be a much cheaper than adding decking to the outdoor space. This typically costs a modest £10 per square metre.

Someone else agreed, writing: ”I actually love it ???? looks beautiful.”

”That’s a first seeing that but u do u if it makes ya happy, people just hate on anything,” another chimed in.

After taking the internet by storm, even Ali admitted the blue artificial turf looked like a swimming pool.

”[I] must remember the next time I have a wine in the garden I don’t try and jump in,” the woman joked in the comments.
