Pokémon fans can grab a super rare free ‘mon that only a third of players have

POKÉMON Scarlet and Violet often gives away free ‘mons to fans to help them build their collections.

This is usually Pokémon based on championship-winning teams, but the latest giveaway is a little different.

Dot’s Quaxly is available for all Scarlet and Violet players to grab

Pokémon fans mourned the loss of protagonist Ash Ketchum from the anime, as after he became World Champion, a whole new story line began.

This new series is called Pokémon Horizons, and features a new set of protagonists Roy and Liko.

Liko’s first partner Pokémon, Sprigatito, has already been given away to Scarlet and Violet players, and now another partner Pokémon can be grabbed.

While Liko picked Sprigatito, and Roy picked Fuecoco, this means there is another Generation 9 Pokémon left over.

The third starter, Quaxly, was given to Dot, another member of Roy and Liko’s crew.

Pokémon is currently giving away Dot’s Quaxly, which is a Pokémon that many fans would not have had access to.

As you can only pick one starter Pokémon, once you make this choice, you are locked out of obtaining the other starters.

If you chose Fuecoco, or Sprigatito, there is now a way to grab your own Quaxly.

To grab Dot’s Quaxly in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, there are a few steps you need to take.

First, you have to navigate to Mystery Gift via the Poké Portal in the main menu.

Then select Get with Code/Password and enter the code D0T1STPARTNER.

Dot’s Quaxly comes at level 5 with the original trainer Dot, and the Classic and Partner Ribbon Marks.

Otherwise, it is exactly the same as the usual partner Pokémon, as it comes with the Water Tera type, and the moves Pound and Water Gun.

If you’ve missed out on any previous Pokémon giveaway, you can check all available codes in our Scarlet and Violet Mystery Gift guide.
