It is similar to the badge from 2016 to 2023

However, shortly after the 2023/24 season started, it was decided that the new design was not for them.

Villa have now come up with a design ahead of the club’s 150th anniversary which is a bit more familiar.

The new credit is almost identical to the one that served the club between 2016 and 2023.

It has reverted to the classic shield shape but has the worst “Aston Villa” running along the bottom.

Some fans have reacted to the new badge on social media with it getting a good reception.

One posted: “Nice crest.”

A second wrote: “Nice.”

A third commented: “I like the badge. It’s a simple, smart design that stands out.”

However some were not keen on the shadow behind the lion.

One fumed: “Badge drop shadow fail. just why?”

A second said: “I just can’t get past that shadow. Looks like clip art s**t. Totally ruins the badge for me.”

The new kits will be made by Adidas as the brand has become the club’s new partners after the deal with Castore expired.

The new crest will be used on the shirts as Villa make their return to Champions League football.

The club achieved a fourth-place finish in the Premier League and will compete in Europe’s premier competition for the first time since the 1982/83 season.
