High pressure brings sun to Oregon coast, Willamette Valley

Monday's forecast around Portland is calling for temperatures to hover right around 70 degrees once again.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Here comes the sunshine!

High pressure over our region on Monday brings a sunny and warm afternoon to the coast and valley.  Monday's forecast around Portland is calling for temperatures to hover right around 70 degrees.

But it will be a cool start to Monday, especially in the southern part of the Willamette Valley. So much so -- that there is a Frost Advisory in place starting at 1 a.m. and lasting until 8am Monday across the southern Willamette Valley and upper Hood River Valley – this includes Corvallis and Eugene.

Once we get to Tuesday morning, we'll see widespread and consistent rain showers. Tuesday also marks the start of daytime highs hanging out in the upper 50s to mid 60s around Portland.

Our rain totals from Tuesday morning to Wednesday evening in PDX look to add up to just under a half of an inch of measurable rain.

With the wet weather mid-week, allergy suffers can expect some relief this week!

But before we grab our rain gear, have those sunglasses handy for Monday afternoon both on the coast and up and down the valley.
