The days of Netflix being stuffed to the brim with beloved licensed movies from yesteryear have ended, but there are still plenty of notable additions to the streamer each month. Sorting through them can be time-consuming, though, which is why we scour the new releases and put together a list of the best movies coming to Netflix for you.

In June, Netflix will roll out a few star-studded original movies, including Glen Powell in Richard Linklater's romantic action comedy Hit Man and Jessica Alba as a Special Forces commando in Trigger Warning. There are also a few excellent licensed movies joining the library, headlined by A24's award-winning coming-of-age drama Aftersun.

Best Netflix movies coming in June 2024

The Lego Movie (June 1)

Netflix is full of fantastic animated movies, but few can top the 2014 animated adventure that is The Lego Movie. Minifigure construction worker Emmet Brickowski (Chris Pratt) unwittingly finds himself in the midst of a battle between the Master Builders and evil businessman Lord Business (Will Ferrell), who wants to glue every Lego piece in place. It's sweet, funny, and helped catapult the careers of directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Crazy Rich Asians (June 6)

Crazy Rich Asians is a 2018 rom-com about a Chinese-American professor named Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) who travels to Singapore to meet her boyfriend Nick's (Henry Golding) family. When she arrives, she discovers that they're only of the richest families in the country. Rachel and Nick are getting serious, but she's going to have to win over Nick's mother, Eleanor (Michelle Yeoh), if she wants to be accepted as a member of the family.

Hit Man (June 7)

There are few actors having a better decade than Glen Powell. After landing starring roles in Top Gun: Maverick with Tom Cruise and Anyone But You with Sydney Sweeney, the leading man will take the top billing in Hit Man, which is based on the true story of a college professor who works as a fake hitman for the New Orleans Police Department. After you watch Hit Man, you can see Powell on the big screen again in Twisters this July.

Aftersun (June 21)

Speaking of buzzy leading men, Aftersun is coming to Netflix in June as well, which stars Paul Mescal as the young father of an 11-year-old girl. The two are on vacation at a Turkish resort as Calum (Mescal) is about to turn 31. Stellar, heartwrenching performances from Paul Mescal and Frankie Corio as his daughter Sophie made this feature directorial debut of Charlotte Wells one of the most celebrated and surprising film releases of 2022.

Trigger Warning (June 21)

Jessica Alba hasn't made a movie in five years, but she's back this summer for Netflix's action thriller Trigger Warning, in which she plays a Special Forces commando who finds herself in the crosshairs of a violent gang after taking over her grandfather's bar. Netflix action movies aren't always winners, but we certainly have time for this one.

A Family Affair (June 28)

Right on the heels of Prime Video's The Idea of You, Netflix has its own movie about a woman becoming romantically entangled with a much younger man. But this is a comedy starring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, and Joey King in which King plays the assistant of movie star Chris Cole (Efron) who ends up falling in love with her mother, Brooke (Kidman).
