Millions of players can grab a free upgrade for a 90-rated game – no subscription required

GAMERS across most platforms are treated to a surprise upgrade to one of 2023’s best games.

The expansion is available to the game’s owners completely free of charge, and no subscription or other payment is required to claim it.

Dave the Diver was one of last year’s surprise hits, praised for its tranquil gameplay, which mixes deep-sea fishing and sushi restaurant management.

Critics and players alike loved the game for its immaculate indie vibes, gorgeous pixel-art visuals, and addictive gameplay loop.

Rated 90 on review aggregator Metacritic, it’s definitely a must-play title and a new upgrade will give you another reason to grab it.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Godzilla, the King of the Monsters is coming to Dave the Diver in a free content pack.

As part of the new expansion, which launches today, May 23, 2024, players will be able to meet and fight the iconic monster on a submarine in the Blue Hole.

Another kaiju – or monster – from the series, Ebirah, is also making an appearance as a boss fight in Dave the Diver.

The content pack will also add monster figures for Dave to collect in the Blue Hole.

Players who own the game can claim their free Godzilla pack until November 23, 2024, when the DLC will be removed from stores.

To start the Godzilla mission, you must progress to the end of Chapter 5 of Dave the Diver’s main story, but you can claim and download it beforehand.

The free add-on is available on all platforms for which the game has been released.

Dave the Diver was first released for PC and macOS via Steam, and has since launched versions for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5.

To claim your free upgrade, go to your preferred platform’s store, search for “Dave the Diver – Godzilla”, and claim the content pack.

When you launch the game for the first time after downloading the Godzilla pack, a message will let you know the upgrade has been applied correctly.
