I splurged £90 on Maya Jama’s ‘fake fringe’ to end up looking like Karen from down the road, then realised my epic error

SHE’D seen the pictures of Maya Jama with her “fake fringe”, so decided to splash out on one of the £90 clip ins herself.

But influencer Perrie Sian was left more than a little disappointed as she ended up looking more like “Karen from down the road” than the Love Island host.

Perrie explained she’d made the decision to buy the fringe after seeing videos of Maya showcasing her clip in, clip out fringe from Beauty Works on social media the other night.

“I’m screaming, crying, throwing up inside,” Perrie admitted in a video on her TikTok page.

“I’m excited, petrified, scared, and, quite frankly, worried for my mental health, your mental health, my physical appearance, and how this is gonna go.

“But I assume I just clip it in and I look like Maya Jama!

Perrie opted for a shade that’s more like her root colour than the blonde on the lengths of her hair.

And the benefit of it being 100% human hair is that you can dye and straighten it, just like normal hair.

But when she tried to clip the fringe in, Perrie couldn’t figure out where the actual fringe part of it was.

“Is the FBI available to send out a search warrant for my fringe?” she joked.

“Cause I paid £90 for this and there ain’t no f**king fringe.”

Holding up a picture of Maya, Perrie added: “This is the fringe that I wanted. This is what I wanted and this is what I got.

“This ready to wear fringe.

“What part of f**king Karen from down the road is ready to wear?”

While Perrie acknowledged that she got the colour match wrong, she couldn’t figure out why the fringe part wasn’t working.

But people in the comments were quick to point out her mistake, with one writing: “In her tiktok she mentions that you need to get it professionally cut into the fringe?”

“Yeah, I realise that now!” Perrie replied.

“I’ve seen everyone cutting the fringe to their desired style/length!” another added.

“I am actually crying,” a third laughed.

“Karen wants her streaks back!”

“I love Maya Jama but £90 is crayyyyyzeeeeeeeeeeeeeee when you have to pay a stylist to have a fringe cut in – you what?” someone else said.

“for £90 it better turn up with Maya Jama attached to it!” another joked.

“So it’s advertised as a fringe for £90 but you don’t get a fringe you have then pay however much you want get it professionally cut,” someone else questioned.

“So it ends up costing over £100!”
