What We’re Tracking

  • Clear and cool morning
  • Strong storms Saturday night
  • Comfortable temperatures

It's cool out there this morning with temperatures in the lower 50s to start out. With clear skies and winds remaining fairly calm through the night, there are a few areas of patchy fog. As we get more sunshine through the morning, it should burn off fairly quickly.

Most of our Saturday will be warm, breezy and overall quiet. Winds will pick up from the south at 15-20 mph helping temperatures climb into the lower 80s this afternoon. Although most of the daytime looks to remain quiet, we expect a round of storms to develop late tonight to our southwest and move our way after sunset and linger into early Sunday.

The storms that move in will be strong to severe. All modes of severe weather are possible. A strong tornado cannot be ruled on any storm that remains isolated. Later in the night storms look to line out and transition to more a damaging wind threat. Wind gusts 75+ mph are possible. Make sure to stay weather aware this evening and have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Sunshine should return for Sunday afternoon with highs in the lower 80s. High temperatures should start to warm back into the 80s Memorial Day itself. So, the holiday is looking warm, but it's hard to rule out some scattered showers and storms in the current pattern.
