Macron dissolves National Assembly: 6th dissolution under the Fifth Republic

French President Emmanuel Macron announced the dissolution of the National Assembly on Sunday. Previously, the National Assembly had been dissolved five times: twice by Charles de Gaulle, twice by François Mitterrand, and once by Jacques Chirac.
