NATIONAL SUMMARY
Hot and humid weather will continue across the Northeast
today as high pressure persists in the area. High
temperatures will be in the lower to middle 90s, and they
will feel even higher when factoring in humidity.
Heat-related illnesses are possible when outside for
extended periods of time in these conditions. There is
another potential for strong storms across areas of
Minnesota and Iowa. Storms will occur in the afternoon and
evening hours and may bring gusty winds, hail and even an
isolated tornado. Afternoon pop-up storms will be possible
in spots across areas from Illinois to western New York.
Places where these storms develop should experience a brief
break from the heat. Showers and rain are expected in
Montana and western Canada.
